The Pie's the Limit

Launched less than a year ago, Pieland has expanded at a breakneck pace
introducing another South African gastronomic favorite to the Israeli palate. "From
the moment we decided to go with it, I was very optimistic about this business
venture. We all felt that the public would be receptive to something new," says Ian
Bank, a partner and operations director of Pieland. If Pieland's offerings are
somewhat unusual for Israeli tastes, Ian would argue that pies are a new generation
of borrekas, but with a difference. "Unlike borrekas, we offer a wide variety of
